Gabriel Manro – Figaro Multiple Grammy Award–winning baritone Gabriel Manro has been praised by San Francisco Classical Voice as “a new kind of baritone…a knock-down baritone.” Last seen with Opera Modesto in La Cenerentola, he has appeared in numerous world premieres and original productions, including works by Stephen Schwartz, Golden Gate Opera, and the Walt Disney Company.
Chris Mosz – Count Almaviva Chris Mosz, tenor, made his Opera Modesto debut last season as Nemorino in The Elixir of Love. He graduated from the Royal College of Music in London with honors. Throughout his career and training Mr. Mosz has been seen in roles such as Fenton in Falstaff, Ferrando in Così fan tutte, Sam Kaplan in Street Scene, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, and George Gibbs in Our Town.
Alianis Lozada – Rosina Alianis Lozada is an emerging Puerto Rican mezzo-soprano from Humacao recognized for her expressive artistry, engaging stage presence, and warm vocal timbre. Last seen with Opera Modesto as Hansel in their production of Hansel and Gretel. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico in 2023 and has performed with a range of companies from Portland, Sarasota, and The Florentine Opera Company.
Timothy Mix – Bartolo Making his Opera Modesto debut, Finnish-American baritone Timothy Mix has appeared with leading companies including San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Washington National Opera. His extensive repertoire includes roles such as Scarpia, Rigoletto, Don Giovanni, Escamillo, and Ford, alongside concert appearances.
John Ames – Basilio Bass John Ames began his career in Reno before joining San Francisco Opera’s prestigious Merola Opera Program and becoming an Adler Fellow. He has performed nearly 70 operatic roles, including almost 30 with San Francisco Opera, and has appeared internationally in productions ranging from The Magic Flute to Wagner’s Ring Cycle. A longtime singer with Opera Modesto, he has appeared in multiple company productions, including Dead Man Walking and Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Fallen Giant.
Deborah Rosengaus – Berta Making her Opera Modesto debut, Deborah Martínez Rosengaus has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Beijing Center for the Performing Arts, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. Bay Area audiences have seen her with West Edge Opera, Opera San José, Pocket Opera, and Livermore Valley Opera in favorite roles including Jo in Little Women, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, and Aldonza in Man of La Mancha.
Guillermo Garcia Jr. – Fiorello Baritone Guillermo García Jr. began his musical training as a violinist before earning a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSU, Stanislaus. He has appeared with Opera Modesto in productions including Rusalka, The Merry Widow, Roméo et Juliette, and The Barber of Seville, and has also performed with Center Stage Opera and Pacific Chorale. He currently serves as Director of Liturgical Music in Manteca, California.
